A reinstatement cost assessment is a professional valuation which provides an assessment of the property rebuild costs. It takes into account the cost of labour and materials, access to site, removal of debris and a variety of other factors.
Cardinus Risk Management are regulated by RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors). Their processes are validated in accordance with ISO certifications for Quality & Assurance (9001), Health & Safety (45001), Environmental (14001) and Data Protection (27001).

- Desktop Valuation services also available (up to a declared value of 20m)*
- Health and Safety Assessments and Fire Risk Assessments - these services can be delivered from their survey team in a single site visit, saving time and money.
*Desktop Valuation can be considered in the following circumstances
- Properties are standard construction, and;
- The footprint of the building can clearly be defined, and;
- If a mixed-use building, only one overall reinstatement cost for the whole building is required or;
- Cardinus has previously completed an on-site RCA and no changes to the property and immediate surrounding area
Exclusions:
- Listed properties
- Properties of historical importance
- Properties of unusual shapes or built using unusual construction methods or materials
- Properties with basements and/or underground levels/car parking
- A part of a property (if the whole building is not insured) cannot be clearly identified
- Properties that are mixed use i.e. commercial and residential where the extent of each cannot be determined from a desktop approach
- Properties where you cannot see the internal layout i.e. industrial units that look from the outside like they are lofty single storey but may hide mezzanines or key fixtures and fittings not visible from a desktop approach
