Increasing cover option - stop your cover increase

You can choose not to increase your cover amount this year if you don’t want to pay the higher premium. If you do this, your cover amount and your premiums will stay the same.

You must tell us as soon as possible before the anniversary date if you want to cancel the increase.  If you do cancel the increase we'll write to you the following year to offer you the opportunity to increase your cover. You may choose to opt out again.

If you decide against the increase three times in a row, we may need to remove increasing cover from your policy. You can’t add it again in the future.

Please note, if your cover type is family income cover you cannot stop the escalation. Please refer to your policy schedule or terms and conditions for more information. You may be able to find these in your MyAviva account.

If it is a joint policy or it’s under trust, you can stop the escalation for this year as long as the other policyholder/all trustees are in agreement.

If you are within your increase window you can stop the increase through your MyAviva account, where you will see a link on the home page of your protection policy.

Alternatively, you can complete our webform.
