Before you continue
You may be able to change your existing policy to get the new cover that you need. Before applying to make these changes, it’s a good idea to read your policy conditions and policy schedule to check what options are available to you. You can find these in the Documents section of MyAviva.
There are some policies that allow you to add optional benefits, such as premium protection, waiver of premium, or critical illness. If your policy says you can add benefits and want to do that, please contact us.
Some policy changes may be subject to additional underwriting, which means we’ll need extra information from you before being able to give a quote. If that’s the case, we’ll be in touch to let you know what we need.
Depending on the change you want to make, we’ll either change your existing policy or give you a new, additional policy to run alongside it. If we do give you a new, additional policy, our current policy conditions will apply to it, and these may be different to the ones for your existing policy.
Please note: If you’ve made, or are planning to make, a claim for any benefit under your existing policy, then you may not be able to change your policy.
If you need advice about what cover is suitable for you, we suggest speaking to a financial adviser. They can help you decide what cover you may need. If you don’t have a financial adviser, you can find one at unbiased.co.uk.
You can use our change of cover request form to:
- increase or reduce your cover amount
- increase or reduce the term of your policy
- remove any optional benefits
- exercise the separation option (if applicable)
We’ll then send you a quote and any relevant documents to complete your request.
