Government grants for electric vehicles

Each government grant covers slightly different aspects of owning an electric vehicle, from its charging port, all the way to the vehicle itself. There’s also support out there for landlords, businesses, and local authorities. That being said, there is only one government grant available to individuals: the EV Chargepoint Grant.

This grant is designed to reduce the cost of installing a home chargepoint for electric vehicles (EV). It’s available to people who rent or own a flat and if they meet certain criteria, the grant provides either £350 off or 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket – whichever amount is lower. ^{Footnote [1]}
